Zero Abuse Tolerance

  • WFBC has a zero tolerance for abuse in ministry programs and activities.

  • Every staff member and servant at WFBC must act in the best interest of all children in every program.

  • If a staff member or servant observes any inappropriate behaviors (e.g., policy violations, neglectful supervision, poor role-modeling) or suspects abuse or neglect (physical, emotional, or sexual), they must immediately report their observations to a staff member

Reporting Suspicious or Inappropriate Behaviors

  • Any report of inappropriate behaviors or suspicions of abuse or neglect will be taken seriously.

  • These reports will be forwarded, in accordance with this policy and state law, to Child Protective Services or Law Enforcement Agencies.

Consequences of Violation

  • Anyone accused of committing a prohibited act or any act considered by the church to be harmful to a child will be immediately suspended from participation in Children’s Ministry.

  • This suspension will remain in place during any investigation by law enforcement or Child Protective agencies.

  • Anyone found to have violated this policy will be prohibited from future participation as a staff member or servant in all activities and programming involving children at WFBC.

  • If the person is an employee, such conduct will result in termination of employment.
