Chapter 4 - Statements of Acknowledgement and Agreement
Zero Abuse Tolerance
WFBC has a zero tolerance for abuse in ministry programs and activities.
Every staff member and servant at WFBC must act in the best interest of all children in every program.
If a staff member or servant observes any inappropriate behaviors (e.g., policy violations, neglectful supervision, poor role-modeling) or suspects abuse or neglect (physical, emotional, or sexual), they must immediately report their observations to a staff member
Reporting Suspicious or Inappropriate Behaviors
Any report of inappropriate behaviors or suspicions of abuse or neglect will be taken seriously.
These reports will be forwarded, in accordance with this policy and state law, to Child Protective Services or Law Enforcement Agencies.
Consequences of Violation
Anyone accused of committing a prohibited act or any act considered by the church to be harmful to a child will be immediately suspended from participation in Children’s Ministry.
This suspension will remain in place during any investigation by law enforcement or Child Protective agencies.
Anyone found to have violated this policy will be prohibited from future participation as a staff member or servant in all activities and programming involving children at WFBC.
If the person is an employee, such conduct will result in termination of employment.
