Chapter 2 - Safety and Policies
There are a few procedure that help keep our building safe place
No child will ever be left unattended.
Children’s Ministry staff members and/or servants are NOT to be alone with an individual child in any room or building
In the event a staff member or servant finds himself/herself alone with a single child, that person will take the child and stand outside the door or move to a place occupied by others
Follow a 2:1 ratio when navigating the building (2 Children : 1 Servant or 2 Servants : 1 Child)
After every programming event, Children’s Ministry team members and servants will ensure every room and restroom is cleared prior to leaving
On the children’s playground, staff members and servants are to circulate, watching children during play periods, giving particular attention to the areas not easily seen from all viewpoints. (Example: under slides, in corners, behind structures).
Any two children together in an unseen or less easily viewed area should be redirected to another (more open) area of the playground
In case of an accident or injury, fill out an incident report, located in room, and inform
Staff members and servants should never conduct one-to-one, unobserved meetings or interaction with children while participating in Children’s Ministry activities or programs
