Hurricane Helene Response
In Paul’s letter to Titus at Crete he exhorted the people to devote themselves to doing good in order to help cases of urgent need (3:14). Those urgent needs are surrounding us today. Many of you have immediate family and dear friends you are assisting. All of us can do something to help.
Here are some ways you can respond:
Open your home for someone to come and stay.
Provide meals for those caring for others that have been forced to leave their homes.
Give to our Disaster Relief Fund at WFBC. These monies are being used to provide for urgent needs of those connected to our church families who have lost so much.
To do this, visit our online giving page here.
Give a financial gift to SendRelief.org. This organization is the arm of the Southern Baptist Convention that addresses disaster relief. They have more than 20 feeding sites set up across 4 states providing 1000s of meals daily.
Intentionally pray daily. Set an alarm to pray at 3:14pm for the month of October. Pray for families displaced, coordination of relief efforts, local churches in the disaster zones, and for hearts to be directed toward the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ” (2 Thessalonians 3:5).
