We are going!

Dear Church Family

Since May 6, we have experienced a fresh work of the Spirit of God among us. We have seen a growing passion for and participation in prayer. We have baptized new believers locally and experienced the presence of hundreds of new and returning college students in our worship services. Our Sunday classes for children are maxing out and we have seen close to 200 teenagers gathered each week. Last Sunday in their second week of meeting this fall our Young Adult Singles class packed 65 people in the 1590 Church Offices House. We have sent missionaries internationally and stateside. We have identified an unreached people group. We will see King’s Hill church launch September 9 in Boston. And I've just learned that our partners in Rome, Italy begin a brand new church September 23. Let the record show, WE ARE GOING!

In the midst of all of this God-work we have now given $800,000 over and above our regular weekly offerings and have committed 1.9 million over two years to the Going Challenge facet of adding ministry space. Even though this currently leaves us short of our some of our original goals, I am amazed at what has happened in 4 months!! Let’s keep praying and let’s keep giving and on September 9 you will hear more from me on how our church will proceed as we move forward in the Going Challenge.

THANK YOU for the way so many of you are giving, praying, serving and following the lead of the Lord. I hear stories of sacrifice and miraculous provision that are so encouraging to my heart. Your gifts and commitments are making a big difference in our preparation and plans for adding new ministry space here in the future.

Two things I ask:

1.     Pray for God’s provision and all aspects of the Going Challenge.

2.     If you have not given or made commitments toward the Going Challenge would you consider joining in our effort to have 100% participation?

Let’s hold fast to the promise found in Philippians 4:19: "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
