Trust in the Lord and lean into His understanding
New Year Night of Prayer is tonight. I hope you will meet me in the Life Building at 6:30 for prayer through song, words, and scripture. We will aim at finishing by 7:45. Why are we meeting? Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Setting aside this first Wednesday of a new year for corporate prayer is our opportunity to express our wholehearted trust in the LORD. Tonight is a chance for each of us to lean into His understanding. More than anything I want our church family together and each of us individually to be totally and completely on a daily path directed by Him.
Sunday we begin a new season in God's Word I'm calling "This Is Living." This will be a week by week look at the book of Philippians. Paul wrote "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." In a way this was Paul saying "Now, this is living!" What kind of living is that? And for that matter, what kind of dying is that? Read the letter of Philippians before Sunday and let's learn together what God's perspective of real living is all about.
Excited about 2018!
I love you
