Today we kick off 21 days of prayer...

The book of Acts offers to us a picture of the church “going.” We see the mighty power of God on display as the church, people just like you and I, walk out the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. The pattern of the New Testament church is still our pattern today. In fact, if we truly desire to experience the New Testament fruit that we see on page after page in the book of Acts, then we must be a church that lives by New Testament faith.

What does that look like for us? Over the last few weeks I have begun sharing about our “Going Challenge.” There are seven parts to this challenge, but number one on the list is the challenge to our church to build a stronger culture of prayer and evangelism. When you study the early church, you will see the centrality of prayer in their lives and the outward spread of the Gospel. Imagine if the same could be said about WFBC!  When someone asks what our church is about, I hope that the answer will be, “Prayer and talking to people about Jesus.”

Let’s begin right now in making this a reality. Starting today I am calling our church to 21 days of prayer and fasting. Here are three ways to join in:

1. Set a reminder or an alarm each day to 4:12 (AM or PM you pick!). At this time reflect on Acts 4:12 and let’s pray that our church will now, more than ever, be willing to take the good news to all people.

2. Guide your prayers with the Going Challenge prayer card. There are 5 prayer points, so it is very easy for each of those prayer points to become your prayer focus that day. For example, on Monday pray for God’s direction for our church as we pursue the vision He has given us. Click here for a pdf of the prayer card.

Also consider fasting from something that would call your attention to a greater dependence and devotion for these 21 days.

3. In the middle of our 21 days, I want you to fill up the Life Building on Wednesday April 25 as we call out to God together through prayer and song. Join us from 6:30pm - 7:30pm that evening. TeamKid will continue as normal.

I look forward to all that God is going to do over the next 21 days,
