Our Membership info night is designed for people interested in joining the church or who want to learn more about Watkinsville First Baptist. At this event you will learn more about where we have been and where we believe God is leading us. You will hear from Carlos and staff talk about what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and what it means to be a part of that journey in the context of the local church. At the end of the night you can decide to move forward in the process or take some time some time to think and pray about the decision.
Registration for this event is now closed. Our next Membership Information Night will be in November.
Launch is the first student event of the year on August 23. Students will be on our church property for a lock-in. Check in starts at 9pm and Pick up is from 7am - 8am. The goal is for students to meet their leaders, develop community within their groups, and them join a D-group.
Because we believe that God’s supernatural work in the church described in Acts was repeatedly connected to the church family praying together, we will gather Sunday August 18 at 5:30pm in the Chapel for our third of four corporate prayer gatherings of the year.
Middle School and High School students - come join us for a week away at the beach. You will hear from David Platt and musical guests will be Vertical Worship, Mosaic, and KB.

What is Secret Church?
Each Spring, our church joins countless other churches and believers across the globe for Secret Church. Secret Church looks like a "house church" gathering with an intense time of Bible study - lasting 6+ hours - and including a time of prayer for our brothers and sisters across the globe who are facing persecution and for those who still have not heard the gospel (http://secretchurch.radical.net/secret-church/).
Each Secret Church location streams live teaching from David Platt that includes video presentations of how to pray for the persecuted. This year's teaching is “Prayer, Fasting, and the Pursuit of God.” The live presentation will take place on Friday, April 26th from 7pm until 1am EST. You can sign up to attend Secret Church at the bottom of this page. Want a quick description? Watch this video: https://vimeo.com/298167660
More About the Topic: Prayer, Fasting, and the Pursuit of God
We were created to know and enjoy God, and to depend on Him for our every need. Sadly, though, we often look to the things of this world to satisfy us, and we are constantly tempted to rely on ourselves rather than on God’s wisdom and power.
In Secret Church 19, we’ll see that all of Scripture invites us to pursue God, and we’ll see how crucial the role of prayer and fasting is in this pursuit. Beginning in Genesis and moving all the way through Revelation, David Platt shows us that God has designed prayer and fasting not only to meet our daily needs but more importantly so that we might find greater intimacy and satisfaction in Him. We’ll also see the critical role of prayer and fasting in carrying out the mission Christ gave to His church—to make disciples of all nations.
Where will it be hosted?
This year, Brad and Cat Kinney will be hosting Secret church at their house located in Watkinsville at: 1121 Spring Hill Ct, Watkinsville, GA 30677
We will be hosting many attendees, so be prepared for a setting similar to an authentic persecuted church—a small, intimate space with many people. That said, PLEASE pay close attention to your email leading up to the event as important details will be shared—namely, carpooling since space will be limited. Also, learning materials and snacks will be provided that night, and the entire event is FREE. It will be a long evening with teaching running from about 6:30 pm - 1:00 am. Come ready and eager to learn.
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR EMAIL FOR INFO BY APRIL 15!
Because we believe that God’s supernatural work in the church described in Acts was repeatedly connected to the church family praying together, we will gather Sunday April 14 at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary for our second of four corporate prayer gatherings of the year.
Lat & Linda Heard have invited our Legacy senior adults to their home in Elberton for a Saturday outing on April 13 from 11 a.m to 4 pm. Spring flowers should be in bloom with, we hope, a lovely warm day. Put this on your calendar!
11:00 a.m. arrive at the Heard’s home in Elberton.
11:30 a.m. - Carpool to the Macintosh Coffee Shoppe - 24 North Macintosh Street in Elberton for lunch. The menu has sandwich plates, salad plates, and wrap plates - prices range from about $4.50 to $8.00.
