By the time we meet Sunday...

By the time we meet Sunday we will know the initial impact of Hurricane Florence and I know you are praying with me that it will dissipate. Depending on the severity, people in our church family will be affected by this due to their work responsibilities as well as family and friends connected to the Carolina coastal areas. Several here have already began to prepare for the potential of people evacuating to this area. If you are aware of needs that our church family can assist with or need to be made aware of, let us know in the church office.

I'm excited to share with you that Robbie Woelfl will be transitioning on our church staff to the role of Missions Pastor. Over the past 9 months since the departure of the Fitzgeralds to East Asia, I have interviewed and prayed for the person to lead us in our efforts of taking the gospel to the world. Our intentional efforts connected to the Going Challenge have only heightened the need for someone to serve in this role. Robbie has a passion for missions, feels called to this role, and has years of experience that will be of great benefit to us all in our efforts to GO and make disciples. He's excited and I'm excited about the potential of his leadership in this area.

Do pray for us now as we begin the process of filling our Discipleship Pastor role. The DP is the point person for all that happens with Life Groups, Sunday Classes, Men's and Women's Ministry, Membership Assimilation, as well as being the team leader of those who lead the ministries of Adults, College, Youth and Children.

Finally remember, YOU HAVE SUPPER PLANS FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30. No need to sign up. Just show up! We will have BBQ chicken, bluegrass music and a fun time hanging out with our whole church family. There's no charge for the meal.  Just bring a dessert and your chairs.

I love you and pray for you,

Pastor Carlos
