We find a beautiful scene unfolding in the book of Acts, Chapter 14. Paul has been out on a missionary journey with his companion, Barnabas, and they have returned home to their sending church at Antioch in Syria. The Word tells us that
"when they arrived [they] gathered the church together [and] declared all that God had done with them, and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles."
After spreading the Gospel in unreached lands, the missionary Paul returns to his faith family, so excited about what God has been doing that all he can do is gather everyone together and proclaim it!
Like Antioch, Watkinsville is a church that sends. Every year many people leave this place to take the Gospel across the globe, whether on a short or mid-term trip, or to spend their lives long-term spreading the Gospel to the ends of the Earth.
On Sunday Night, August 17 we have the joy and privilege to hear firsthand from some of those we have sent out. We will see pictures, hear stories, learn about the state of the world and the movement of the gospel, pray to the Lord of the Harvest, and celebrate what He has done, is doing and will do through His Church, for His glory, until He returns.
